Debug World map

Debug is a location in Anodyne.

Location[]

Make sure you have at least 47 cards before trying to find this area.

First, go to the Windmill's Nexus portal, then go up, and then swap right (above the first fence) to reach the second windmill. Go up the second windmill to reach Blank. Once in Blank, go right, up, up, up, and use swap to reach the rift portal. Use swap to go right and up to reach a second rift portal. From this area, swap down, left, down, swap down, swap down, right, and swap down until you reach the 47 Gate's rift portal. You'll be in a black and white area. Go right, right, and up to another rift portal. You will now be in a hidden area of the Nexus. Save and then go to the left to find a rift to reach Debug.

Enemies[]

Music[]

The song that plays in the background is "Temple." There's a computer in the area that lets you play any song or sound in the game.

Connections[]

Carved Rocks[]

  • Welcome to the DEBUG WORLD! You've stepped outside of "The Land", so consider this world (90 PER-CENT) "Non-canon". Anyways. Before there were tilesets for many of the areas I used silly tiles like these to mark where doors went. In fact, every dungeon was mocked up in this area's tileset, and then Marina tiled over them with her tilesets.
  • PRISON!!! Save us!!! Please!
  • We wanted to model all dungeons around this and scrap health entirely, but that turned out to be far too hard! Enemies used to be able to drop keys. I scrapped this idea even though it was slightly amusing. Another idea we played with was having challenge gates, which lay at the end of a gauntlet, and only opened when you reached them without getting hurt.
  • Here are tests for various tile layers and collisions! I couldn't get one way tiles from both sides (i.e., walls) working very well so I just ended up scrapping the idea entirely... or something. There was some reason why we didn't use them. Simplifying design, which was important for us to finish the game.
  • This used to be a placeholder animation for the card gates. Approach it twice to see the locked and open animations! I forget why we ended up scrapping it. Perhaps too dramatic.
